About Us

Newfoundlands are working dogs, originating from the island of Newfoundland, Canada.

They are very strong swimmers with a thick, waterproof coat, and were traditonally used by fishermen for hauling fishing nets.

The East Anglian Working Newfoundland group consists of Newfoundland dog owners who use our dogs' natural swimming abilities and rescuing instinct to practice water rescue.

We have displays of our dog's abilites at various events in the summer - see our events page.

These dogs are also used for cart-pulling, and can be found delivering Christmas trees at Elveden on December weekends!
